When looking for siding contractors, it is definitely a good idea to do some of your own research, narrow down your choices to a couple of options, and then interview them.  Here are 5 things you need to consider when choosing between siding contractors.

1. You have likely narrowed down your options for siding contractors through searching on the internet and through referrals from friends or neighbors.  Read the reviews online and look at the jobs the siding contractors did for your friends or neighbors.  You may even want to check with local material providers and building permit authorities and see if they have any recommendations for siding contractors.

2. Make sure the siding contractors you are considering have a current license, and see if they have ever had any licensing issues. 

3. Confirm that the siding contractors you are considering have insurance and bond coverage.

4. In the interview, go over the work that needs be done, the timeline you have in mind, and your expectations for the end of the job.  See how they respond so you will have a good idea of what it will be like working with the siding contractor. 

5. Another thing to ask in the interview for a siding contractor is how they determine the price for your project.  Make sure it makes sense to you and that they will not try to sneak in extra costs.  You will also want to ask about contract terms, payment, and warranties. 

By doing all of these things, you should be able to hire a siding contractor that will do a quality job and one you can trust.
